Hyein Kwon

Artist Kwon Hye-in pays attention to messages contained in myths and period stories in historical relics and historical sources.
In it, we discover prosperity, hope, and energy in the original attitude of human life, find questions and answers about our common lives, and project them into today's stories.
It expresses hope and exploration for a better life with narrative elements that inspire imagination by borrowing images of relics.

Time is not merely something that passes; it accumulates, overlaps, and seeps through the fabric of our senses. Like Proust’s “involuntary memory,” my sculptures begin from a sudden awakening of sensation. This exhibition, mediated through the material of clay, quietly embodies the density of time, recalling the tremors of my fingertips and capturing the echoes of emotion in a form that becomes a kind of "portrait." The spiral structures and overlapping patterns resemble the rings of time, acting as traces of emotion and the rhythm of life. Within them, accumulated time and the unconscious reside, speaking through a sculptural language. I hope these forms will awaken long-forgotten times within you, allowing them to bloom again.
