Hyein Kwon

Artist Kwon Hye-in pays attention to messages contained in myths and period stories in historical relics and historical sources.
In it, we discover prosperity, hope, and energy in the original attitude of human life, find questions and answers about our common lives, and project them into today's stories.
It expresses hope and exploration for a better life with narrative elements that inspire imagination by borrowing images of relics.

Mantra,  2025

This work explores the journey of life, growth, and transience. The experiences we accumulate during our development are deeply etched into our bodies, shaping our past. I focused on the mantra "Om Namah Shivaya," expressing the power of this sacred syllable as a symbol of divine truth and transformation, promoting inner peace and self-exploration.

This mantra symbolizes birth, death, and rebirth, illustrating the process of seeking essence in adversity, discovering inner strength, and embracing change. The work visually represents the rhythm and harmony of the mantra through repetitive forms and colors, while the vibrational lines and structured elements symbolize the journey toward finding peace of mind. Each shape signifies a connection to the a sacred being, emphasizing our interconnected existence through the continuous flow of life and change.

Like the rings of a tree, this piece reveals the power of experience that thickens over time. Our experiences are not mere memories; they are vital forces that permeate the entirety of our lives. It is through this strength that we continuously rediscover ourselves and gain new perspectives toward the future.

I hope that viewers will feel the importance of self-reflection through this process and embark on their own journeys to find meaning in life.
