Hyein Kwon


Artist Kwon Hye-in pays attention to messages contained in myths and period stories in historical relics and historical sources.
In it, we discover prosperity, hope, and energy in the original attitude of human life, find questions and answers about our common lives, and project them into today's stories.
It expresses hope and exploration for a better life with narrative elements that inspire imagination by borrowing images of relics.

健康 Health_ 季冬大儺儀



This work deals with the problem of "Health" among the series works that assume human natural needs in five categories of
"wealth, honor, health, love, and beauty" and express them as works through consideration of life.

It is a jar decorated with a carving motif of Gye-dong Daena-ui, a traditional Korean military ritual to expel the bad energy of the country.
Four Bangsang-si people, wearing black jeogori and red skirts and wearing bear skins, are guarding the east, west, north, and south.
Forty-eight people wearing 12-god masks travel around the palace, wielding spears and whips, and chasing the an epidemic spirit from the palace to the outside of the four gates.

This contains the hope that not only individual health but also a plague such as COVID-19, which has disrupted life around the world. will not occur again.
